Impact and Services

The Gelephu Mindfulness City is expected to draw spiritual seekers, and because of a more relaxed visa regime and ease of doing business, it might become a gateway to Bhutan for spiritual tourism

The Centre provides a social space for visits on holy days, as well as a place of worship within the aims of spiritual growth, and cultural preservation.

The site offers an authentic and conducive environment in the mindfulness city for deep Dharma practices for all nationalities, and Buddhist traditions. Individuals seeking genuine experiences, and deep immersion into Bhutanese culture, traditions, etc. will travel to and through Gelephu once such infrastructure is available. Ultimately, they will contribute to the local and the country's economy.

World over, large religious monuments generate spiritual tourism around it, and thereby create jobs and boost the local economy. Besides, festivals, fairs, and spiritual activities attract large crowds, stimulating a wide range of businesses, especially hotels, restaurants, cafes, souvenirs shops, farms, etc. The centre once completed will also generate direct employment for over 200 people in management, operations, maintenance, hospitality, and program support.
