Project Financing
Donation
• The project will be executed mainly through funding from external sponsors and patrons, because of the size of initial capital needed. His Eminence Leytshog Lopen has granted seed money of USD 10,000 as a symbolic gesture.
• Smaller donations are also expected from local members of Bhutan Tara Foundation, and from the disciples of His Eminence.
• Protocols and payment gateways will be established to facilitate contributions from international members and Bhutanese living overseas.
In-Kind Contribution
• The Gelephu Mindfulness City vision is an opportunity for Bhutanese to rethink nation-building and mindful living in the 21st century and beyond. Hence, what will be also encouraged and structured will be volunteering at the site, for which arrangements will be made to host them and recognise their contributions. This is done to instil a sense of pride and ownership in helping build the world’s first mindfulness city.
• Innovative in-kind contributions will also be devised and promoted. For instance, Bhutanese have the culture of donating construction materials and sponsoring food, and contributing religious items such as statues and scriptures.
