His Eminence Sangay Dorji
The Leytshog Lopen (Karma Acharya) of Bhutan

HE Leytshog Lopen Rimpoche is one of the most popular teachers in Bhutan.
He started his monastic studies at the age of 11, and completed the final nine-year of higher learning from Tango Shedra. He received teachings from various Buddhist masters, including the present Je Khenpo and the late Je Khenpo Gayduen Rinchen. He also completed his three-year solitary retreat from Cheri Meditation Centre.
Lopen Sangay Dorji served as a principal of Dodeydra Shedra for 11 years and as the President of Tango University for the four years, prior to this appointment.
The Leytshog Lopen is in charge of all of the Central Monastic Body’s service-related activities, including administration, development and propagation of Buddha Dharma. He is also the chairman of the Dratshang Koedtshog (The Executive Council).
